ADA Ramp Design

ADA Ramp Design by Booker Engineering

Make Sure Your Facility is ADA-Compliant

In order to be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, cities must ensure their public sidewalk ramps are updated to current ADA standards. ADA standards apply to all places of public accommodations and commercial facilities. Additionally, many municipalities require companies doing Right of Way work near non-compliant ramps to update the ramp as part of their overall scope of work. We provide companies and municipalities in the Greater Seattle area with PE stamped ADA ramps designs that comply with all the current ADA specifications.

Our team at Booker Engineering has extensive experience designing a variety of ADA compliant ramps throughout the Seattle Area.

Our team will measure onsite for ramp compliance and based on our findings we will determine if a new ramp is needed.

ADA standards define various factors of wheelchair ramps such as:

  1. Minimum and maximum slope of sidewalk ramps

  2. Length and width specifications

  3. Safety standards

Our ADA ramp design process

  1. First, you provide us with documentation outlining the ramps that need to be reviewed or updated.

  2. We will then conduct a site visit to measure the existing sidewalk, ramp, and roadway specs.

  3. We use our field measurements to thoroughly analyze the ramp's ADA compliance.

  4. If the ramp is found to be non-compliant we will design a new ADA compliant ramp.

  5. These designs will be submitted to the city as part of your work order application.

  6. Once approved by the local jurisdiction our ADA ramp design will be used by your team at the designated project site.

Our consistent and trusted process provides our customers with the design solutions they need in order to begin their projects.

Our standard turnaround time for ADA ramp design is 10 business days.

Can you expedite my ADA ramp design?

Yes, we can speed up your ADA ramp design process for a limited fee. We allow for accommodations for certain projects if a fast-tracked timeline is needed.

How much do ADA ramp design services cost?

Our ADA ramp design pricing begins at $1500 and depends on a variety of factors such as location and design. Our ADA ramp design service also includes a PE stamp of approval.

What is a PE stamp?

A PE stamp stands for professional engineer design. This signals to your local jurisdiction that your ADA ramp was designed by a professional engineer. For most municipalities, this stamp is required in order for your ramp design to be approved.

Do I need a TCP for ADA ramp construction?

If your construction project will interfere with traffic lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, road shoulders, or parking lots then you will need to submit a traffic control plan along with your ramp design.
